Canadian tech CEO and serial entrepreneur Bruce Fikowski shares with Global News Winnipeg personalities Julie Buckingham and Richard Cloutier why small business loves the GetAssist social media network.
“I developed the network to cater to small businesses,” Bruce says. “I realized the difference between Angie’s List and these other sites where you find service providers is that nobody was creating a market for their clients, and that’s what we did with GetAssist.”
Social left small business behind, the Calgary native says of the entertainment offered by Facebook, professional connections on LinkedIn and the 280 character limit on Twitter. Companies and social communities connect on the same purely private network with GetAssist.
Businesses pay a nominal fee for access to the network and customer leads while it remains free for users. Communities are by invitation only, and layers upon layers of security and protocol protect personal privacy.
“The experience with today’s social -- with all of this unwanted advertising and content -- and becoming part of the product in terms of giving away your privacy, photos and everything else is a bit much,” the Calgary native concludes. “We brought a network to Canada that changes all of that.”
